Roads & Tracks (Paths to Perfection)

This post has loads of roads (Road Races, silly! LOL), so let's start there!!

A triple dip in Road distances happened in France!
The 5K for Men was won by Telehun Haile in 13:10, while the Women's race went to Fantu Worku's 14:47!
The Men's 10K was won by Kenneth Renju, his 26:57 beating the 27:00 by Yasir Haji!
Faith Cherono took the Women's race in 31:06!
They had the same time--59:37--but Andrew Rotich was given the Half win over Kibiwot Kandie!
Zenebu Fikadu took the Women's race in 66:57!

A trio of Spring Marathons---
Daegu's Men's race was won by Shifera Tamru's 2:06:31!
Naznet Weldu won the Women's division in 2:21:56!
That's the National Record for Eritrea!
The Milan Marathon went to the 2:05:05 by Titrus Kibiego!
Second was Daniel Kibet's 2:05:20!
Vivian Kiplagat took the Women's race in 2:20:18!

The Paris Marathon was taken by Chulu Deso's 2:05:07!
It was close, as 2nd went to the 2:05:10 by Seifu Tura!
Morhad Amdouni was 3rd in 2:05:22, but it got him the NR of France!!
Judith Korir took the Women's race in 2:19:48!
Back in 10th was Lindsey Flanagan, whose 2:26:54 misses the US list by one second!!

One more Marathon note, and it's rare!
A High Schooler (Tim Synowiec) ran 2:22:50 in the Maryland Marathon!
His time is the HSR, breaking the record set by Clancy Devery in 1977--2:23:05!!

I've always said my blog would cover ALL of T&F, including XC and the Walks!
However, as you know, I give fairly small attention to Cross Country, as the times don't fit my criteria of accuracy, due to the differing course terrains!
As for Walks, I've also pretty much ignored them over the years!
That has changed!
I've begun A-T lists for the 20K, the 35K, and the 50K--for Men and Women, and for the World and US!
They're just Top 10's for now, but at least it's a beginning!
To that end, some great marks came from the Podebrady, Czech Republic 20K's, especially for the United States!
The Men's race was won by Caio Bonfim (sp??), time of 1:18:54!
Nick Christie finished just 19th, but his big PR of 1:22:44 makes him 6th A-T US!
In 23rd came Dan Nenevaj, his PR of 1:23:10 making him 7th A-T US!!

The Women's race went to Valeria Ortuno's 1:29:25!
But in 12th came American Robyn Stevens, with yet another huge PR!
Her 1:32:15 makes her 4th A-T US!

There were some good marks on the various tracks and fields of the world also!
In Kenya, Ferdidand Omurwa sprinted a 100 in 10.00!
The Florida Relays offered some solid sprint times!
In separate races, Joseph Fahnbullah ran the 200 in 20.22, while Jacory Patterson ran 20.20!
Also in separate races, Abby Steiner timed 11.10 for her Century, while Aleia Hobbs's time was 11.06!
Kentucky's Men and Women took the 4 x 400's, respective times of 3:02.21 and 3:26.99!

Jenn SUHR did it!
She shattered the Age 40 Record in the Pole Vault, going over 14-9!!
But she lost to the 14-9 by Ekaterina Stefanidi!
Brittany Brown sped a 100 in 10.99 in this Baylor meet!

The dual meet between Texas and Texas A&M broke several Dual Meet Records!!
Texas's 4 X 400 in 3:02.33 was one of them!
Julien Alfred's 11.07 tied the Dual Meet Record!
Another DMR (not the Distance Medley Relay!  LOL) went to Laila Owens's 200 of 22.57!
Tyra Gittens's winning HJ of 6-4.75 was another!
She beat the 6-4 by Lamara Distin!
Finally (for Dual Meet Records), we have the fast improving Charokee Young!
Her one lapper in 50.00 is also the Soph Class Record, and ranks her 5th A-T Collegiate!!

No records, but other good marks from the same meet--
Seasons Usual won the DT with her 195-2!
Devin Achane's 20.20 won the 200!
Tripp Piperi won the Shot Put with 70-7.75!
Jonathan Jones sped a lap in 45.07!
Kylah Robinson won the 100H in 12.80!
And Deborah Acquah LJ'ed 22-7.25, making her 7th A-T Collegiate!!

A meet at Stanford saw a bunch of good distance times--as usual!
The best--by far!!--was in a losing position!!
While Molly Grabill won the Women's 5000 in 15:22.97, it was the 3rd place mark that got the headlines!
Natalie Cook continued her amazing season by SMASHING the OUTdoor HSR with her 15:25.93!
It's also the Senior Class Record!
That's about 4:56 per mile for 3.1 miles!!

Ky Robinson took the Men's race in 13:23.61.
It beat the 13:24.68 by Charles Hicks, and the 13:27.02 by Cole Sprout!
Lauren Gregory won the 10000 in 32:34.21.
HS'er Rheinhardt Harrison timed 1:49.25 over 800 meters!
Frosh Sadie Englehardt PR'ed at 800 in 2:05.66.
And in the Hammer Throw, Camryn Rogers reached 243-4!

Jasmine Camacho Quinn's 12.67 in the USATF Bermuda Games was a solid mark!
But what if I told you it was run INTO a wind of 2.5??!!
Wow!

A Chula Vista meet (Where else?) saw Daniel Stahl and Rachel Dincoff win the DT's, respective marks of 226-9 and 201-3!
In a Mississippi meet, Cade Flatt finished in 2nd, but his 800 of 1:47.04 blew away his PR, and makes him 3rd A-T HS!!

A Louisiana meet had a gaggle of solid marks--
Tyler Johnson ran a 400 in 44.95!
Christian Coleman won the 200 in 20.25!
Masai Russell ran 12.75 over the 100H!
Kentucky's Women won the 4 X 100 in 42.46, beating LSU's 42.69!
And Abby Steiner won a 100 in 10.92!
It's the Junior Class Record, and makes her 5th A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others!
In 2nd came Favour Ofili, her 11.00 making her 21st A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others!
Steiner also ran 22.38 over half a lap!

In Tennessee, Estonia's Janek Oiglane scored 8405 points in the Decathlon, easily beating the 8133 by Kyle Garland!
Athing Mu jogged her 400 in 51.75!
Darrell Hill sent his SP out 69-8.75!
Jorinde Van Klinken did the same with her DT, her measurement being 204-8!
Brooke Anderson got the World Leader with her Hammer Throw of 253-6!

A bit more, so stay with me, my friends!

In Arizona, Iowa won the 4 X 400 Relay in 3:02.39!
TCU took the 4 X 100 in 38.95!
And Jenoah McKiver ran his 400 in 44.74!

In California, Daniel Stahl won the DT with 224-6!
Then we have the Dancing Discus Queen--Valarie Allman!
All she did was add a full foot to her own American Record--hitting the ground at 234-5!!
Not only is it the AR, but it's the farthest DT by a Woman in this Century!!
No one has thrown farther since 1992!!
She now ranks 16th A-T World!!

Mykolas Alekna continued his fine season with a DT measuring 213-2!
Camryn Rogers reached 245-5 with the Hammer Throw!
In 2nd was Anna Purchase's 231-8!
It makes her 13th A-T Collegiate!

We now move to Australia, where Cedric Dubler scored 8393 points in the Decathlon!
Jessica Hull ran the 5000 in 15:06.13!
Nicola McDermott HJ'ed 6-4.25!
And Liz Clay won the 100H in 12.72!
In 3rd came a once-familiar name in Australian--and world--lore!
Michelle Jenneke--she of the infamous starting line dance at the 2012 World Junior Championships that went viral--ran a pretty fair time of 13.05!
We haven't heard from her in awhile!
A bit surprised she's still at it!
But good to know she's back!!

Finally, in Japan, Tabitha Kamau won a 5000 in 15:03.51!

Like Ms Jenneke, I'll be back with another OUTdoor season round-up--soon!!
