Moving right along, here's Millrose, the Razorback Invitational, and an assortment of Road Races!!
We'll begin with the latter!
Valencia kept its reputation intact with good times at its 10K!
Daniel Simiyu took the Men's race in 26:58, with Chimdesse Debele closing in 27:10!
The Women's race was won by Norah Tanui in 30:35!
That barely beat the 30:38 by Karoline Grovdal!
The Half in Houston is another speedy one!
Sara Hall took over the American Record with a blazing 67:15!
But she was over two minutes too late to snag the Gold!
That honor went to Vicoty Chepngeno, who ran 65:03!!
It makes her 11th A-T World!
Kara Goucher ran 66:57 on a course deemed not legal for Record purposes awhile back, so Hall's time is the best run on a certified Record-eligible course!
Dominique Scott led a group of top tier women behind Hall, her time being 67:32!
Fiona O'Keefe had a big breakthrough, her 67:42 making her 4th A-T US!
Jessica Judd followed in 67:52.
Emily Durgin's 67:54 made her 7th A-T US!
Dakotah Lindwurm ran 69:36, making her 16th A-T US!
And Nell Rojas also ran a sub-70, her 69:42 making her 18th A-T US!!
But Sara wasn't the only Woman getting an American Record in Houston!
Keira D'Amato slashed her PR by 3:44, her 2:19:12 erasing the venerable Deena Kastor's mark from the top of the American Marathon list!
Not only that, she finds herself ranking 22nd A-T World, tied with 1 other!!
Amazing, but not totally unexpected!!
However, the 2nd and 3rd placers were almost exactly 10 whole minutes back!!
And what a finish!!
Alice Wright sprinted past Maggie Montoya at the line, both timing 2:29:08!!
A photo finish in a Marathon!!
American Men did well in the Houston Half!
Kirubel Erassa's 60:44 took 4th, but makes him 9th A-T US!
Biya Simbassa was 7th, but his 61:03 places him 15th A-T US!
Syd Gidabuday's 61:09 was 9th, but his time makes him 16th A-T US!
Scott Fauble was just behind, his 61:11 making him 17th A-T US!
The Walks are not to be denied!
At the USATF 35K , Nick Christie Walked a great time of 2:48:48!!
This distance is relatively new, so I don't have any lists for it!
In fact, I wish they'd return full time to the 50K, for both sexes, and not only at the Olympics!!
This distance makes absolutely no sense to me!!
That said, Miranda Melville broke the American Record for the distance with her 3:00:18!!
Stephanie Casey took 2nd with 3:01:55!
The veteran Maria Michta-Coffey was 3rd in 3:07:31!
Back to the INdoor season!!
At the Virginia Showcase meet, Will Sumner got the HSR in the 500, his time being 1:01.25!
Rheinhardt Harrison is now 2nd A-T HS with his 2:22.77 over 1000 meters!
Justin Braun ran a good 33.32 in the 300, but he's run faster!
Shawnti Jackson impressed, taking the 60 in 7.25, and the 300 in 36.95!
The 300 makes her 2nd A-T HS, and gives her the Junior Class Record!
Roisin Willis and Sophia Gorriaran may be friends, but they're serious competitors whenever they toe the line together!!
Over 500 meters, Willis's 1:10.90 turned back the 1:11.26 by Gorriaran!
They are now 4th and 5th A-T HS, respectively!
At twice the distance, Willis again won, her 2:43.34 not being a PR!
But Gorriaran's 2:43.52 makes her 4th A-T US!!
Kariya Johnson's 7.29 over 60 meters makes her 22nd A-T HS!
And the Moll sisters are at it again!!
This time, it was Hana's time in the spotlight, her clearance of 14-8 in the PV making her 2nd A-T HS!
It also makes her the Junior Class Record holder!!
Amanda was good also, her 14-2 making her 8th A-T HS, tied with 1 other!
Remember my comparison of the Moll girls to the Weeks in my last post?
Well, the tie is broken!
Tori and Lexi's heights add to 28-7.25!
But now the Moll's jumped (sic!) ahead, their heights adding to 28-10!!
BTW, they jumped at the PV Summit!
A Virginia meet saw some good marks from the Pro and Collegiate crowd!

In the WT, Shey Taiwo hit 79-1.25, moving her up 3 lists--7th A-T Collegiate, 12th A-T US, and 14th A-T World!
Janeah Stewart threw a non-PR 78-0 in 2nd!
Jasmine Mitchell's 77-6 took 3rd, also moving her up the trio of lists--12th A-T Collegiate, 14th A-T US, and 19th A-T World!

Finally, we have Kentucky winning the 4 X 400 Relay in 3:28.62!
This makes them 7th A-T School, tied with 1 other!
Arkansas was impressive in 2nd, running 3:29.09!
At the New Balance Games in NYC, Sophia Gorriaran ran the 600 in 1:27.70, which amazingly is NOT her PR!!
In the Men's Two Mile (Yes, the full distance!!), Gavin Sherry had a winning time of 8:50.05!
