2019 OUTdoor Previews (Collegiate Class Records)

Here is my Preview for the Collegiate Class Records!
See my HS Preview for all the guidelines!
Of course, one thing not mentioned earlier---Class Records for HS'ers can be broken through August 31st, while Collegiate Class Records can be broken only through the NCAA Championship meet!!

Frosh Class--MEN
9.97, 19.87, 44.52, 1:43.55, 3:36.50, 3:53.2, (No Mark for the 3000), 8:25.2 (Jim Ryun's time is the sole Two Mile mark I have for Collegiates!  They don't have that event!!  Ryun's race was GREAT--I saw it in person!!  He basically tied winner Jim Grelle--same time, with negative splits of 4:15 & 4:10, closing with a 440 yard lap of 56.4!!  He was then 19 years old!!) 13:18.71, 27:38.6, 8:28.95, 13.16, 48.69, 7-6, 27-2.75, 56-4.75, 18-10.25, 71-9.50, 207-5, 268-7, 248-9, 8223

Best chance to be broken are in the 100, 400, 1500, Mile, 3000, 10000, SC, 400H, HJ, LJ, PV, DT, HT, and the Decathlon!
Anthony Schwartz has a fair chance at the sprint records!
Mondo Duplantis has a fair to middling chance at the PV mark!  LOL
Actually, so do Sondre Guttormsen and KC Lightfoot!
(Watch your back, Mondo!!)
Jamal Walton has a chance in the 400.
Martin LaMou seems okay in the TJ!
And Karel Talya has a shot at the Decathlon Record!

Frosh Class--WOMEN
10.99, 22,21, 49.80, 1:59.71, 4:11.53, (No Mark for the Mile!!), 8:57.5, 15:22.71, 32:11.81, 9:40.98, 12.65, 52.75, 6-4.25, 22-1, 46-5.25, 15-3.75, 60-2.50, 213-6, 186-4, 225-9, 6021

Easiest targets are the 100, 200, 800, 1500, Mile (!!), 3000, 5000, 10000, SC, HJ, LJ, PV, JT, and the Heptathlon!
BTW, when I say marks are the "easiest" to get, I am NOT saying these Records WILL be broken!
I'm only saying that they're weak enough that they SHOULD be broken, circumstances being perfect!
A few athletes with chances to get these marks include Caitlin Collier in the 800, 1500, and the Mile!
But I didn't see any INdoor results from her!!  Anyone know her status??
Lanae Tava Thomas might be good for the LJ Record!
She's also a sprinter, but probably not ready for any Class Records!
And then there's Madison Wiltrout, still the HSR holder in the JT, but still maybe recovering from the surgery she had awhile back!!

Soph Class--MEN
9.90, 19.86, 43.61, 1:43.25, 3:35.99, (No Marks for the Mile or 3000!), 13:08.4, 27:28.98, 8:05.4, 13.00, 47.56, 7-7.75, 27-9.50, 55-8.50, 19-4.75, 69-7.50, 219-6, 268-7, 256-0, 8095

Easiest marks should be the 100, 200, 1500, Mile, 3000, 10000, TJ, SP, JT, and the Decathlon!!
Hakim Sani Brown seems a likely candidate for the short sprint Records!
Tejaswin Shankar is a good HJ'er!
Jordan Geist and Tripp Piperi are solid in the SP!
Anderson Peters got off a good early season JT!
And Georgia's Johannes Erm is a good Decathlete!

Soph Class--WOMEN
10.99, 22.24, 50.03, 2:00.85, 4:06.19, 4:30.16, 8:54.41, 15:19.22, 31:56.72, 9:38.23, 12.57, 53.74, 6-6, 22-5.25, 47-8, 15-0, 63-5, 221-5, 192-5, 231-3, 6223

Best bets to fall are the 100, 200, 800, Mile, 3000, 5000, 10000, SC, 400H, PV, JT, HT, and the Heptathlon!
Lots of names here!!
Twanisha Terry and Tamara Clark are solid in the 100 and 200.
Lynna Irby didn't have the greatest INdoor season, but watch for her in the 200 and 400 anyway!
Weini Kelati seems best at distances from the 3K to the 10K!
Adva Cohen is probably best in the 3000, 5000, and SC!
Chanel Brissett is solid in the 100H!
Kelachi Nwanaga is a good JT'er!
Lisa Gunnarsson--if she's healthy--is almost a sure bet for the PV Record!
Beatrice Llano is oood for the HT!
And Tyra Gittens might challenge the Heptathlon Record!

Junior Class--MEN
9.82, 19.69, 44.10, 1:44.75, 3:35.01, (No Msrk for the Mile and 3000!), 13:20.55, 27"08/39, 8:22.34, 13.21, 47.02, 7-9.75, 28-0, 57-6.50, 19-0.25, 72-1. 223-7, 292-4, 268-10, 8446

Good chance to be broken is in the 400, 800, 1500, Mile, 5000, SC, 110H, and the PV!
Divine Oduduru had a GREAT INdoor season!
But can he have a great OUTdoor season also?
Ditto for Oliver Hoere!
Can he get the 1500, Mile, and maybe the 3000 Records?
Then there's Grant Holloway!
He seems a sure bet for the Class Record in the 110H!
But can he add the LJ Record also??
Chris Nilsen is a goodie in the PV, while Gleb Dudarev will challenge the HT Record---maybe!!

Junior Class--WOMEN
10.85, 22.09, 50.15, 1:59.10, 4:06.67, 4:31.01, 8:47.35, 15:11.13, 31:25.45, 9:29.20, 12.39, 53.21, 6-4.25, 22-10.50, 46-11.50, 15-3, 61-7.50, 216-8, 198-0, 240-7, 6390

Easiest targets are the 400, 800, 1500, Mile, 3000, 5000, 10000, SC, 400H, HJ, PV, JT, and the Heptathlon!
Candidates for some of these Records include Oregon Duck Mackenzie Dunsmore in the 400, and Jessica Hull and Danae Rivers in the 800, 1500, and Mile!
Allie Ostrander might be good for everything from the 3000 to the 10000, including the 3000SC!!
Anna Rohrer is best at the two longest distances!
Lucy Bryan is a solid in the PV!

Senior Class--MEN
9.92, 19.87, 43.70, 1:44.50, 3:35.30, 3:52.44, 7:37.70 in the only 3000 Record I have, 13:15.77, 27:41.05, 8:21.48, 13.18, 47.67, 7-8.50, 28-8.25, 57-6.50, 19-7.50, 72-2.25, 221-3, 273-3, 265-3, 8539

Best bets for the chopping block are the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, Mile 3000, 5000, 10000, SC, 110H, 400H, SP, and the JT!!
Doing the courting might be Andre Ewers in the shortest sprints, Wil London in the 400, Morgan McDonald and Grant Fisher in the 5000, but add the 10K for the Australian!
Daniel Roberts is a solid in the 110H!
Matt Ludwig might have a shot at the PV mark!
And Payton Otterdahl seems a sure bet for the SP---and maybe even one other Throw!!

Senior Class--WOMEN
10.78, 22.02, 49.71, 1:59.11, 3:59.90, 4:29.04, 8:59.15, 15:07.64, 31:18.07, 9:24.41, 12.48, 53.54, 6-6.25, 22-11.25, 47-11.75, 15-5.75, 63-10.25, 215-3, 204-0, 244-6, 6527

Records that seem the easiest to get are the 800, Mile, 3000, 5000, 10000, SC, 100H, 400H, PV, and the JT!
Some of the athletes vying for them include Kayla White in the 100 and 200!
Ednah Kurgat should be best from the 3000 through the 10000, excepting the SC!!
The battle for supremacy in the Women's PV should be between Lexi Jacobus, Olivia Gruver, and Tori Hoggard!
Hang on to your hats!!
Mackenzie Little seems the best in the JT!

And that's it for the Class Records---HS and Collegiate!
Next up will be the Age Records Preview--probably done over two posts!
However, I want to follow the T&F action today, so might not get to those before tonight, or early tomorrow morning!!

See you soon!
