This is actually my most important Preview--IMHO!
Because it tells athletes (coaches & fans) exactly what marks are necessary to make my Top 24 All-Time Performers lists--what I call my DDD's, or Double Dandy Dozen!!
If an athlete in any of my 4 core groups reach even just 24th place, they are in truly elite territory!!
This post will list the 24th place marks on my World, US, Collegiate, and HS lists for OUTdoors!
These marks were copied onto paper on March 21st!
Any marks that came after that date are NOT included!!
I wanted these lists to indicate where we're at PRIOR to the TX & FL Relays weekend!
The symbol (*****) indicates an event not held regularly in a core group, such as the Two Mile not held for Collegiates!
Also, I simply chose to not have lists for certain events, such as the Relays for the HS set!
As always, the HS 1 & 2 Mile lists do NOT include any 1600 or 3200 times, or times converted from them!
Also, the HS Men's Throws (except the JT) are all for HS weighted implements!!
Onward!!
The lists go (from left to right) for the World, US, Collegiate, with the HS numbers being on the far right!

As you know, I added DDD's for the NXN, Footlocker, and NCAA XC Championships!!
Here they are---
NXN 15:10.75
Footlocker 14:53.6
NCAA 28:56.9
I think it's sad that the US Men are so far behind the World in the longest 3 events---about 52 seconds slower in the 10K, almost 3 minutes behind in the Half, and about 6 minutes off in the Marathon!!
We need to improve there!!
You'll notice that in a few lists, the Collegiate mark is fairly close to the US mark, as in the HJ!
That's mainly because the US Collegiate system has many foreigners competing here!!
That ups the quality quite a bit!!
(I don't have lists for American Collegiates separate from the overall list!)
Onto the Women!

Added to the Women's repertoire this past season (2018)---with the great promotional and logistical assistance of Becca Peter (PoleVaultPower)---was the Women's Decathlon!
While this event started several decades ago, it only became a significant factor in recent years, with it finally coming to prominence in 2018!!
Following are the current 24th placers---
DEC 5676 5384 ***** *****
Obviously, we should look for rapid improvements as the elite Multi's Women begin to compete!!
I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I really wish the HS Women would run the 10000 more often!
That list is CRYING out for MASSIVE revision!!
Ditto with the US Two Mile list!!
It's really pathetic--with all due respect to those great HS Women who are on the US list!!--that there remain a few HS'ers on the US list!!
We NEED more and greater Deuce races!
And RUN them, Ladies, don't jog & kick!!
(Same with the US Men!!)
Okay, athletes & coaches, do what you can do to gain a place for yourself (or your athlete) on these lists!!
You HAVE the talent!
USE it!!
See you soon with my final Previews---my predictions of which core group Records might fall this season!!
Also, a post FILLED with this weekend's results---and some older ones!!
BTW, several of the above lists have already been changed!!
All the details in my next results post!!
See you soon!
