Mt SAC Offers Records in Abundance

The Mount San Antonio College Relays--aka Mt SAC--put on quite a show!
That is, if you include its subsidiary called the USATF Golden Games!
I do!
Just as I don't call the former "US vs the World" events the Penn Relays held to be a separate meet, I see the USATF Golden Games to be a PART OF Mt SAC, not a separate meet!!
That said, let's see what took place there!

Ayden Owens scored a massive 8528 points to win the Decathlon!
It's said that's the Collegiate Record, but I say that Lindon Victor's 8539 windy score is!
Thus, Owens ranks 2nd A-T Collegiate!
He does get the Junior Class Record, and Puerto Rico's National Record!
Austin West's 8179 ranks him 24th A-T Collegiate!

Fred Kerley and Michael Norman had quite a race over 200 meters, Kerley's 19.80 edging Norman's 19.83!
Kerley gets the Meet Record!
Rai Benjamin was a good 3rd, time of 20.01!

It was in the heats, but Elaine Thompson-Herah sped the 100 in 10.89--then didn't run the final!
That heat was pretty fast, as Aleia Hobbs was 2nd in 10.95, Michelle Lee-Ahye was 3rd in 10.96, and Gabby Thomas 4th in 11.00!
Thomas also won the 200 in 22.02!
She beat the 22.29 by Brittany Brown!

The Women's Hammer Throw saw Brooke Andersen heave her ball and chain 251-10, which broke her own Meet Record!
Camryn Rogers threw 248-5 in 2nd, breaking her own Collegiate Record, her own Senior Class Record, and tying the National Record of Canada!!

Karissa Schweizer took the 5000 in 15:02.77!
Emily Infeld was 2nd in 15:05.80!
Colorado's Abby Nichols ran 15:15.95 in 5th, which ranks her 8th A-T Collegiate!
Mercy Chelangat's 6th place time of 15:17.28 ranks her 11th A-T Collegiate!
And I must mention Maggie Montoya--who was in the Boulder supermarket where she worked when a mass shooting took place awhile ago--finished 7th in 15:19.85!

Courtney Wayment pretty much soloed to a time of 9:26.88 in the 3000SC!
It's the Meet Record, and ranks her 3rd A-T Collegiate!
Val Constien was a solid 2nd in 9:31.20!
Michael Cherry sped the 400 in 44.28, beating Alison Dos Santos's 44.54!
But if you add that 44.54 to Dos Santos's 46.72 over 400H, you get a Combined Events time of 1:31.26!
That ranks him 3rd A-T World on that C-E list!

Raevyn Rogers front ran her 800 in 1:58.77, an unusual strategy for her!
Valarie Allman's DT of 227-11 is the new Meet Record!
Jorinde Van Klinken threw 207-11 for 2nd!
Danielle Thomas-Dodd won a competitive SP with her throw of 62-1.
Jessica Woodard's 61-7 took 2nd, while 3rd went to the 61-4.75 by Jessica Ramsey!
Vashti Cunningham HJ'ed 6-5 for an easy win!

Julien Alfred ran the 100 in 10.98, which is the National Record of Saint Lucia!
It also ranks her 16th A-T Collegiate, tied with 4 others!
Devonte Burnett won the Men's 100 in 9.99!
Monae Nichols took the LJ with 22-6.25, which makes her 9th A-T Collegiate!
Clayton Fritsch (Who's he??  LOL) won the PV with 19-0.25, making him 9th A-T Collegiate, tied with 4 others!
Jacob Wooten cleared the same height in 2nd!

In other Mt SAC events--
Elise Cranny won the 1500 in 4:08.07.
Dylan Jacobs just beat Amon Kemboi over 10000 meters, 28:01 94 to 28:02.24!
Andrenette Knight's 54.39 took the 400H!
Darrell Hill's 71-1.50 won the SP, with Josh Awotunde's 70-11.75 in 2nd, and Tripp Piperi's 70-7.25 taking 3rd!
Kara Winger let fly her Javelin 207-7 for an easy W!

Jonathan Jones won the 400 in 45.30!
Earnie Sears HJ'ed 7-6.50 to win!
Rudy Winkler's 259-6 won the Hammer Throw.
Daniel Stahl's DT of 221-11 beat Mykolas Alekna, who reached 218-6!
And in a good 100H, Tonea Marshall timed 12.46, beating the 12.56 by Kendra Harrison, and the 12.59 by Tia Jones!!

In South Carolina, Rachel Glenn HJ'ed 6-2.75!
I have a solid series of High School marks to report!
Newbury Park has a good Women's distance crew also!
They ran the 4 X 1600 in a quick 19:48.81!
Speaking of whom, the Boys DMR team ran 9:55.24, with Colin Sahlman anchoring in 4:04.18!
Gary Martin timed 4:00.95 for the full Mile, making him 17th A-T HS!
Rheinhardt Harrison ran the 800 in a PR of 1:48.05, making him 14th A-T HS!

Jordan Anthony's Century of 10.14 makes him 8th A-T HS, tied with 1 other!
Maddox Hamm PV'ed 17-9, making him 19th A-T HS, tied with 1 other!
And Rachel Homoly PV'ed 13-10.50, but she has a better mark!

To end this post, what better way than to report on a World and American Record??!!
But to do so, we must move back INdoors!!
You see, New Balance wanted to open their new INdoor track facility in Boston with a BANG!!
So they gathered together a team of NB All-Stars--and a special guest--to go for the Distance Medley Relay Record!!
And they even called the team the NB All-Stars!!

Heather MacLean led off with a 1200 time of 3:14.92!
The Race to Recordsville was ON!
A last-minute substitute for Sydney McLaughlin--who felt a little niggle, so decided to withdraw--Kendell Ellis flew in from California the night before, and still sped 52.04 for her 400 leg!
She handed off to stud HS'er Roisin Willis, who stayed together enough to run a solo 800 leg of 2:03.29!
Then came EPSP--aka Elle Purrier St Pierre--and she flew around the new track in 4:23.60 for her 1600 leg!
Their time of 10:33.85 took a bit more than 6 seconds off the previous Records!!
An amazing solo run!!
(The 2nd place team ended about 2 minutes and 25 seconds later!!)

See you soon with more exciting results!!
