Lausanne & Paris DL's (& more!)

Did you read my post from yesterday--Reintroducing My Blog?
Then you know I'm ready to finish reporting results from the 2021 OUTdoor season--or everything that followed the Prefontaine meet!
Obviously, I can't fit all 37 pages of notes into one giant post!
So expect at least 5, and maybe 6 or 7, separate posts, all concentrated on the 2021 OUTdoor season!
When you see a mark reported as 17th place on one of my A-T lists, know that the place listed is AT THAT TIME, not as of now!!
So here goes, folks!!

I'll get to the DL's in a minute, but first some marks from the World Junior Championships!!

Antony Pesela got a WJ's Meet Record with his 400 of 44.58!
Emmanuel Wanyongji (sp??) got another with his 800 time of 1:43.76!!

The 110H at this meet use the US HS height, so measure Sasha Zhoya's phenomenal 12.72 against what we here in the States have done!
He also heat timed 12.93!!
BTW, he was 19 then!

South Africa got another MR with their 4X100 Relay time of 38.51.
Jamaica wasn't far behind with their 38.61.

Testosterone high athletes finished ahead of her, but the Win goes to Favour Ofili's 22.23 in the 200!
She also nabs the Meet Record!
Jamaica sped 42.94 for yet another MR in the Women's Sprint Relay!

Note that the Women's weights are the same throughout their careers, so the 235-0 that Siljo Kosonen threw in the Hammer is a legit "Pro" mark!!
And a Meet Record!

Some miscellaneous news--
Wilma Murto Pole Vaulted 15-2.25--a PR for her!
L Bonevaccio (sp??) broke his own Netherlands NR in the 400 with his 44.48!

And a few HS marks--
Karson Gordon (again sp??) got the Frosh Class Record in the Triple Jump with his 49-3.50!
Heather Abadie PV'ed 13-11.25!
This makes her 24th A-T HS, tied with 3 others!
And Ariel Pedigo scored 5493 points in the Heptathlon, making her 7th A-T HS, tied witth 1 other!!

Lausanne was an excellent meet, with a load of top tier marks!!
I'll list them in the order of my notes!

Kenny Bednarek sprinted 19.65 over the half lap!
BUT--the wind was 3.2!!
Marco Arop took the 800 in 1:44.50.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen took the 3000 in 7:33.06!

Should the news of the PV be that Chris Nilsen beat Sam Kendricks, both clearing 19-1?
OR that Mondo Duplantis ended just 4th, topping just 18-5.25??

Johannes Vetter's Javelin flew 290-6 for the W!
Ryan Crouser broke his own Meet Record with his SP toss of 74-10!
Tom Walsh took 2nd with 72-6.25!

The Women's 100 was the highlight event of the meet--both for the match-up and for the times!
Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce topped Elaine Thompson-Herah, 10.60 to 10.64!!!
For SAFP, this is the MR, and she breaks her own Age 34 Record, as well as making her 3rd A-T World!!
Her Combined Events total for the 100 and 200 is 32.39 (10.60 & 21.79), making her 5th A-T World!

Marileidy Paulino took the 400 in 50.40.
Femke Bol got the MR with her 400H time of 53.05!
Great Britain beat Switzerland in the 4X100, 42.44 to 42.47!

Mariya Lasitskene and Yaroslava Mahuchukh both HJ'ed 6-6, with Lasitskene winning!
Khaddi Sagnia got the win in the LJ with her 22-8.50!
And Yulimar Rojas took the TJ with a now "average" mark of 50-11.
She also had a windy 51-0.75!!

The Paris DL (Ooo La La!  LOL) was also top notch!

How about Fred Kerley and Kenny Bednarek BOTH running 19.79 in the 200??
Kerley got the W.
Mondo Duplantis got the Meet Record in the PV with his 19-8.50!
The Record broken??
None other than Sergei Bubka's 1985 MR!!
(Note the first 4 numbers of Mondo's new Record matches the year Bubka set it!!)

Wycliffe Kinyamal took the 800 in 1:43.94.
Ben Kigen took the 3000SC in 8:07.12.
Hansle Parchment beat Devon Allen in the 110H, 13.03 to 13.08!

Marileidy Paulino improved on her Lausanne time with a good 50.12 in the 400.
Ernest Obiena got the National Record of the Philippines with his PV height of 19-4.75!
ET-H got the Paris Meet Record with her 10.72 in the Century!
Danielle Williams beat Nadine Visser in the 100H, 12.50 to 12.58!

Sandra Perkovic took the Discus Throw with 216-9, with Valerie Allman taking 3rd with 211-9!
Nicole McDermott beat Mariya Lasitskene in the HJ, with both topping 6-6.
Last but not least, we have a FAST Women's 3000!!
Ejgeyahu Taye took top honors with her 8:19.52!
It's the MR, and Ethiopia's NR!
It's also the Age 21 Record, and makes her 5th A-T World!!
Margaret Kipkemboi took 2nd with 8:21.53!
She's now 11th A-T World!

Two Americans ran well.
Elise Cranny was 3rd in a quick 8:30.30!
This makes her 4th A-T US!
Alicia Monson ended just 8th, but her 8:40.08 makes her 15th A-T US!!

And more---
In Finland, Wilma Murto again PR'ed, her latest of 15-5.75 being the new Finland National Record!

Yalemzerf  Yehualaw ran what was thought to be a World Record in the Half Marathon!
BUT her 63:44 won't count, since the course turned out to be short!

Jordan Gray blew apart the American Record in the "new" Women's Decathlon.
Her score was a brilliant 8246!!

Though it was windy, Corrin Brewer got the High School Record with her 5698.
And it even makes the US list--in 16th place!!
(In the next few years, these records should be drastically revised!!)

I missed a mark from the World Juniors!
Udodi Onwudzurika (sp???) timed 20.21 in the 200 for 6th A-T HS!!

Finally, Veronica Vacea (sp?) PV'ed 13-4.
Not bad for a HS'er, right?
Well, this girl happens to be an EIGHTH GRADER!!
Wow!

And that's a wrap!
Hope you're enjoying this much belated recap of the end of the 2021 OUTdoor season!
Back with more soon!
