Strange Year Seemed Normal Then

Continuing my series of posts covering--in some order!--what I and you missed due to my former cataract problem!
Yes, we all KNOW what was soon to happen, but I hope you're enjoying this retrospective on this strange year that seemed normal then!!  (See, I worked my title into my prose--kiss me!!  LOL)
But much to report in this lead-up to the Millrose Games!
Let's do it by event group!

Sprints and Hurdles
In high Albuquerque, Mikiah Brisco sped the 60 in 7.08.
Behind her came Julien Alfred, whose 7.10 makes her 7th A-T Collegiate!
Keni Harrison did the 60H in 7.81, also in ABQ.
Cameron Rose ran 200 in 20.94, making him 5th A-T HS!
Behind him came Aahmed Robinson's 21.20, which makes him the caboose on my HS DDD!
At the Razorback Invite, Ray Ekevwo sped the 60 in 6.53, tying the Meet Record, and making him 23rd A-T Collegiate, tied with 3 others.
Ms Alfred (See above!) tied the MR with her 7.15!
Tonea Marshall's 7.82 got the 60H MR!
Trey Cunningham sped 60H in 7.52, making him 8th A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others!
In Paris, Andy Pozzi tied Cunningham's World Leader of 7.52!

Middle Distance
Donavan Brazier took a 3 lap stroll in just 1:14.48 in the Boston New Balance meet!
It's the Age 22 Record and the MR!
Bryce Hopped won the 1k in 2:17.41, makin g him 4rd A-T US!
Second went to Jake Wightman, whose 2:17.51 nabbed the British National Record!
Jessica Hull got Australia's NR with her 4:04.14 victory!
In 3rd was Ciara Mageean, whose 4:06.42 gained her Ireland's NR!
Nikki Hiltz Took the Mile in a different Boston meet, time of 4:29.39!
Whittni Orton followed in 4:29.71, which makes her 13th A-T Collegiate!
Her 1500 enroute time of 4:12.34 also gets her 13th A-T Collegiate!

Mary Cain's first two races after her incredibly emotional NYT op-ed was in Boston, where she ended far back in a 3000 in 9:24.38 (But ahead of Katelyn Tuohy's 9:32.88!), and a Mile in 4:42.78 in a Michigan meet!

In Boston, Josh Thompson beat Abraham Alvarado, 3:37.21 to 3:37.28, in a 1500, making them 12th and 13th A-T US, respectively!
Cory McGee's 4:04.75 in the 1500 makes her 5th A-T US!!
In the Texas Tech meet, Devin Dixon did 600 meters in 1:15.18, making him 5th A-T US, and 8th A-T World!!
Also at that Texas Tech meet, a speedy Women's 600 saw Kayla Johnson's 1:27.64 prevail over Aaliyah Miller's 1:27.83!
Johnson is now 4th A-T Collegiate, and 19th A-T US, while Miller is 24th A-T US!!

Do you REALLY need to know some fast times from Seattle's monstrous 307 meter OT?
OK, so Shelby Houlihan whipped Karissa Schweizer in the Mile, 4:23.68 to 4:24.32!
Cruz Culpepper followed some older runners to a 4:01.68 Mile.
But they're all WORTHLESS!!

Let's end this section on a happy note--
Juliette Whittaker got the Soph Class Record (by over 2 seconds!!) in the 1000 with her great 2:45.49!!

Distances--both INdoors and OUTdoors
I love Boston's New Balance meet, because they seem to always run a Women's Two Mile there!!
Five Women made news there!
Elle Purrier took the Deuce in 9:29.17, making her 5th A-T US, and 15th A-T World!
Dom Scott-Erfurd's 9:31.98 makes her 21st A-T World!

Katrina Coogan is 14th A-T US with her 9:36.52!
And Stephanie Garcia's 9:39.16 makes her 19th A-T US!!

In another Beantown meet, Paul Tanui may have won the Men's 5000 in 13:15.72, but it was Northern Arizona's Tyler Day whose 13:16.95 made him 5th A-T Collegiate, and 11th A-T US!!
Emily Lipari's move up in distance gave her a 5000 time of 15:07.44, making her 5th A-T US!!

OUTdoors now to the Roads!
In the Houston Marathon, Melindi Elmore (Who is she??) ran 2:24:50 for Canada's NR!!
Dubai's normally SUPER speedy race wasn't so much this year!
The Men's race went in a so-so 2:06:15.
But it was fairly deep, as Basha Yerssie's 2:06:34 got the best 11th Place mark, and Zalekwa Bacha's 2:07:09 netted him the best 12th Place mark!
Worknesh Degefa took the Women's race in 2:19:38.

Horizontal Jumps
Rayvon Grey got the Razorback Meet Record with his LJ of 26-6.50!
Jasmine Moore exploded past the 45 foot barrier with a big 45-7.25!
She's now 15th A-T Collegiate, and 13th A-T US, tied with 1 other!
Her jump got rid of the last of the sub-45 TJ'ers from my Collegiate list!
You need a 45-1.50 to make it now!
Omar Craddock's TJ of 55-8.25 gave him the World Lead!
Tori Franklin TJ'ed 46-5.50!
Craddock's lead didn't last long, as H Zhango's 58-3.75 gav e him the NR of Burkasa Faso!
And 4th A-T World, tied with 1 other!

Vertical Jumps
KC Lightfoot had a good pair of PV's!
He first cleared 19-0.25, giving him 9th A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others, and 19th A-T US, tied with a massive ELEVEN others!!
He then matched that mark!

Her 6-7 in Ukraine tied the Ukraine National Record, and made her 19th A-T World, tied with 7 others!
Then in the Karlsruhe meet, she topped 6-7.50, breaking her NR, and breaking her own Age 18 Record!
Second in Karlsruhe was Yuliya Levchenko, who got over 6-6.25!
Mariya Lasitskene's 6-8.25 tied her Personal Record for the third year in a row!!
Consistency!!

The Throws
Jessica Ramsey's sP of 62-0.50 makes her 14th A-T US!
Samantha Noennig sent her ball out 59-7.50, making her 11th A-T Collegiate!

Janeah Stewart didn't miss her recent PR by much, sending the WT out 82-2.25!

In an odd circumstance, Trey Knight got to throw the INdoor WT OUTdoors--in Portland!
Yes, the Portland INdoor meet held the WT OUTdoors!
But it was a great toss nonetheless--67-0!!

The Multi's and The Relays
At the Indiana Relays, Iowa State did a Distance Medley in 9:28.22, making them 8th A-T School, tied with 1 other!

But Oregon did them a mite better at the Razorback Invite!
They merely dropped the Collegiate Record down to 9:24.52, with the help of a Cooper Teare anchor of 3:55.45 for his 1600 leg!
It of course gets the Meet Record also!

Stanford's Women's DMR time was 10:55.89--a Meet Record!
Arkansas followed in 10:57.08!
