Just in!
The first mark from the new INdoor T&F season came in from a JDL All-Comers meet held today!
And it's a good one!
Ryen Frazier, younger sister of Duke's Wesley, ran the fastest-ever Mile by a North Carolina HS'er, her time being 4:44.20.
This ranks her 12th A-T HS, tied with 2 others.
(Actually, one of those tied marks belongs to Suzy Favor (Hamilton), a hand-timed 4:44.2, which I count as 4:44.20!)
And as with the WR attempt announcements (See earlier post from today!), this beats last year's earliest received marks by almost 3 weeks!!)
Keep them coming, guys and gals!!
Now on to the Collegiate Class Records!
I'll do the Men first, then the Women.
I'll repeat the exact format I used in my earlier post about HS Class Records, first listing all the records (No names or dates!), then some comments, followed by a list of athletes who might challenge some of the marks!
Unlike the HS classifications, I use "Frosh", "Soph", "Junior", and "Senior" instead of numbered grades!
Frosh: 6.54, 20.40, 44.93, 1:16.92, 1:46.13, 2:19.53 (No 1500 mark!), 3:55.02, 7:52.64, 13:41.89, 7.57, 7-6, 26-7.75, 55-8.25, 18-8.75, 65-10.50, 74-10.50, 5674.
Soph: 6.51, 20.10, 44.57, 1:17.35, 1:44.84, (No 1000 record!), (No 1500 mark!), 3:55.33, 7:46.45, 13:08.28, 7.52, 7-7, 27-10.75, 56-7.50, 19-1.50, 71-3.50, 77-6, (No Hept mark!)
Junior: 6.51, 20.32, 45.03, 1:17.90, 1:45.88, (No 1000 mark!), 3:38.60, 3:54.74, 7:42.79, 13:26.01, 7.50, 7-7.75, 27-4, 56-11.50, 19-2.25, 70-6.25, 79-7.50, (No Hept mark!)
Senior: 6.45, 20.26, 45.29, 1:15.79, 1:45.33, 2:18.55, 3:37.25, 3:52.88, 7:38.59, 13:13.74, 7.47, 7-9.25, 28-2.25, 57-5, 19-1, 70-7.25, 78-9.25, 6499.
A couple of comments.
The NCAA mostly runs the 1 Mile INdoors, and doesn't time the 1500 enroute, thus the lack of 1500 marks.
The 2 Mile isn't run by Collegians.
Here's a list--a fairly short one!---of guys who could challenge some of these marks.
Frosh challengers include:
Trentavis Friday (60, 200).
(And that's it for Frosh!)
Soph records could fall to:
Trayvon Bromell (60)
Michael Cherry (400, 600)
Tretaz Kinnaird (600, 800, 1000)
Ed Cheserek (any distance he tries between the 1500 and 5000)
Ben Saarel (1500-5000, or any that Cheserek leaves for him!)
Devon Allen (60H)
Junior Class Records might go to:
Arman (Gino?) Hall (400)
Brandon McBride (800, 1000)
Brannon Kidder (1000, 1 Mile)
Shawn Barber (PV)
Jarrion Lawson (LJ)
And Senior Class records could be challenged by:
Dedric Dukes (200)
Aaron Ernest (200)
Vernon Norwood (400)
Rich Peters (800, 1000)
Eric Jenkins (3000, 5000)
Sam Kendricks (PV)
Ryan Crouser (SP)
On the Women's side, here's their Class Records!

Some comments.
Imagine what kind of total destruction a NON-Pro Mary Cain might have done to the Frosh Class record book!! EVERY mark from 600 through 5000 would have been obliterated!! (Not to mention a few A-T COLLEGIATE records!!)
I may have more information on 600's and 1000's later on, hopefully filling in the blanks and/or making corrections!!
That Frosh Class 1500 mark, compared to the 1 mile, is terrible! Maybe Elise Cranny can clean that up!!
ALL of the 1000 Class records are pretty bad, when you consider that the "amateur" HSR is BETTER than the Frosh, Soph, and Junior class records on the Collegiate level!!
All of the 200 records are within 0.09 of each other, with a Freshman holding the overall CR!
And all of the sub-Senior class 400 marks are within 0.08 of each other!
The list of Class Record challengers is much longer on the Women's side than the Men's!
Here's the list!
Challenges to Frosh Class records could come from:
Elise Cranny (800, 1000, 1500, 1 Mile, 3000, 5000)
Bethan Knights (3000, 5000)
Sarah Baxter (3000, 5000) IF she runs indoors!
Dior Hall (60H)
Desiree Freier (PV)
Keturah Orji (LJ, TJ)
Raven Saunders (SP)
Soph Class marks could fall to:
Jasmine Todd (60)
Leontia Kallenou (HJ)
Shayla Sanders (60, 200)
Kendell Baisden (200, 400)
Shamier Little (400)
Sabrina Southerland (600, 800, 1000)
Rachele Schulist (3000, 5000)
Erin Finn (3000, 5000) Only if she's recovered from her injury!
Wesley Frazier (1 Mile, 3000, 5000) If she returns to her 2013 form!
Kendell Williams (60H, Pent.)
Annie Rhodes (PV)
Junior Class marks could go to:
Julia Ratcliffe (WT)
Morolake Akinosun (60)
Jenna Prandini (60, 200)
Courtney Okolo (400)
Amy Weissenbach (800, 1000)
Katrina Coogan (1500, 1 Mile, 3000, 5000)
Kate Avery (3000, 5000)
Emily Grove and Megan Clark (PV)
Christina Hillman (SP)
And the Senior Class marks could be challenged by:
Erica Bougard (Pent)
Dezerea Bryant and Kamaria Brown (60, 200)
Jillian Weir (WT)
Aisling Cuffe (3000, 5000) Like with Finn, only if she's back from her fall injury!
Shelby Houlihan (1500, 1 Mile, 3000, 5000)
Dominique Scott (5000)
Emma Bates (5000)
Kendra Harrison (60H)
Kaitlin Petrillose & Sandi Morris (PV)
Ciarra Brewer (TJ)
Kearsten Peoples (SP)
And that does it!
Be back after Thanksgiving with more on INdoor T&F!!
(And who knows what else!!)
Congratulations (again!) to Ryen Frazier for kick-starting the new INdoor season with a BANG, not a whimper!!
