More Millrose--and More of More!

As noted in my earlier post, the rest of my Millrose report will be on the High Schoolers!!

And no one was more spectacular than Taylor Ewert!!
She Walked--and Ran!!
(But not in the same race!!  LOL)

In her primary event, she emerged with TWO High School Records!!
She won the Mile Walk in a HSR of 6:28.21!
She was timed at 1500 enroute in 6:02.85--her other HSR!!
(She returned a few hours later to cover a Running Mile in 4:51 and change!!)

Im the absence of Katelyn Tuohy--a late scratch because of illness--Marlee Starliper took the Girls Mile in 4:41.66!
She moves from 17th A-T HS to 12th!
Her 1500 split of 4:23.02 moves her from 17th A-T HS to 9th!!

Athing Mu continued her amazing season in winning the 600 in 1:27.36!!
While remaining 2nd A-T HS, she breaks her own Junior Class Record!
And she moves onto the A-T US list--in 14th!!

Britton Wilson ran 37.53 in the 300, moving her from 5th A-T HS to 3rd!!
Cheyenne Figueroa threw the WT 61-0.25, moving her from 22nd A-T HS to 12th!
Monique Hardy threw 60-2.25 in 2nd, not a PR!

In the Boys Mile, Sam Affolder didn't win!
Matt Rizzo of Bronxville took the W in 4:09.12, with brother Alex ending 6th in 4:12.89!!
(Does B'ville have two other guys to form a possible record-breaking 4 X Mile??)
Anyway, Affolder led at 1500 in 3:51.08, making him 15th A-T HS!
His Mile time was 4:09.68!

And now we turn our attention to the Elders of the sport!!

And the Men's Pole Vault Merry Go-Round rolls on!!
(See earlier posts!)
The next in line was a real shocker!
Andrew Irwin took the Tyson meet title with his 19-3.50 World Leader!
He became 7th A-T US!!
Chris Nilsen was 2nd with 18-8.75!!

But wait!!
Sam Kendricks took the World lead---AGAIN!!--with his 19-4.25 over in France somewhere!!
Jake Wooten also PR'ed--with his 18-9.25!
That makes him 13th A-T Collegiate!!
Sondre Gutormsen PR'ed also with his clearance of 18-9.25, which tied him with Wooten at 13th A-T Collegiate!!
It's also the National Record of Norway!

The Female Vaulters were not to be denied!

Anzhelika Sidorova joined the INdoor 16 foot crowd with her 16-1.25 in Madrid, which gives her the Age 27 Record!
She moves from 5th A-T World, tied with 2 others, to 4th, tied with 1 other!
Nikoleta Kiriakopoulou finished 2nd at 15-6.50!

Holly Bradshaw took her umpteenth British title with her 15-9!
In the absence of Tori Hoggard and Lexi Jacobus (both DNS's at the Tyson meet!), Emily Grove won with a 14-10.25 clearance!

Kortney Ross's 15-2.25 PR (which moves her from 17th A-T US, tied with 5 others, to 13th), beat an icon of the sport!
Her name is Jenn Suhr, who rust'busted her season with a clearance of 15-0.25!
While a good mark, it wasn't enough to beat Stacy Dragila's Age 37 record of 15-1.50!!
(She's likely to be at USATF, where she's sure to get that mark!!)

The other vertical jump saw Mariya Lasitskene reach 6-8.25, which gives her the Age 26 Record, and ties her 2018 PR!!

Yulimar Rojas TJ'ed 48-11.25, which breaks her own National Record of Venezuela!
She moves from 19th A-T World to 11th!
Tori Franklin nabbed the American Record with her 47-9.75!!

Genzebe Dibaba took over the World Lead with her 1500 time of 3:59.08.
She gets the Age 27 Record!!
She turned 28 a couple of days later!

Some good stuff from the BU meet---
Sean McGorty had a good duel with Brit Mark Scott in the 5000!
His 13:21.35 makes him 9th A-T US!
Scott ran 13:21.97!
Jenna Westaway's 2:37.04 in the 1000 is the National Record of Canada!
Laura Roesler is BACK!!
After an earlier fast K (See previous post!), she won the 800 with a 1:59.80!
She moves from 17th A-T US to 10th!
Also, Chris Geisting's 1:46.48 over 800 meters makes him 19th A-T US, tied with 2 others!

In the Muscle events---
Jeneah Stewart whipped the WT out 81-5.25!
It's the Age 22 Record!
It moves her from 10th A-T US to 3rd, and from 10th A-T World, tied with 1 other, to 4th!
Laulauga Tausaga reached 76-3.75 with the WT!
She makes a trio of lists--
11th A-T Collegiate, 15th A-T US, and 20th A-T World!!

Chase Ealey emerged with a SP PR of 61-9.75, making her 16th A-T US!
In doing so, she beat Maggie Ewen's 61-8.25!!

Grant Holloway came close to his Collegiate Record in the 60H, his 7.43 breaking his own Junior Class Record!!
But it was Chanel Brissett's super PR of 7.90 that won the Tyson meet!
This makes her 8th A-T Collegiate, tied with 1 other!
It also ties the Soph Class Record!

Ewa Swoboda ran a 7.11 in the 60!
Dafne Schippers was 2nd in 7.18!

Marco Arop sped the 800 in 1:45.90, making him 7th A-T Collegiate!
Ce'Aira Brown's 2:39.19 in the 1000 makes her 19th A-T US!

A pair of National Records from the Men's 1500--
Marcin Lewandowski's 3:36.50 broke his own NR of Poland, while Kaile Borglund's 3:36.63 gets him Sweden's NR!!
Lewandowski also gets the Age 31 Record!1

In the 4X400 Relay, Houston ran 3:01.51, making them the 4th A-T School!
Texas A&M ended 2nd in 3:01.56!!
They finished just 3rd at Tyson, but Iowa's 3:04.76 moves them from 24th A-T School to 12th!

Alina Shikh's 4581 score took over the World Lead in the Pentathlon!

Ending my INdoor report, Laura Muir came close to her 400 PR in the British Champs 3000--kicking hard to a 56.9 closer in her 8:48.03 W!
Yes, I said 56.9!!!

OUTdoors, thee were fast Half races at the RAK Half!!
For the Men, Stephen Kiprop won it in 58:42!
Abadi Hadis ran 58:44 to take the Silver!
Fikada Haftu's 59:08 was 3rd!
Jalen Wanders ran 59:13 in 4th!
This gives him the Switzerland National Record--as well as the fastest ever Half by a European!!!

I wish I'd seen the Women's race finish!!
Running the SAME time (65:45) were Senbere Teferi and Netsenet Gudeta!!
Teferi becomes 12th A-T World, tied with 2 others!
As well does Gudeta!!
In 3rd, just one second behind the leading pair, came Zenucha (??) Yimer!
She's now 15th A-T World, tied with 1 other!!
And she gets the Age 20 Record!!
Degefa Azimeraw ran 66:07, making her 20th A-T World, tied with 1 other!
Getting the best ever 5th Place mark was Valary Aiyalau (??), her time being 66:30!!

And that is a wrap--twice over!

Again, let's wish for a full recovery for Kemoy Campbell!!

See you soon!
