Great Marks Elsewhere Too

Great marks elsewhere indeed!
From Europe, from Boston, and from Collegiate Conference sites across the USA!!
And what better way to begin than with a Collegiate Record!!

From a small school (North Dakota State) in a small Conference (Summit League), Payton Otterdahl took the Collegiate Record in the Shot Put away from two giants of the event--Ryan Crouser and Ryan Whiting!!

Otterdahl sent the ball flying out 71-6.75, to get the CR, the Senior Class Record, as well as moving up on three lists!
He moves from 3rd A-T Collegiate to 1st!
From 12th A-T US to 10th!
And from 23rd A-T World to 18th!

But that wasn't the only CR broken over the weekend!
Who else but Mondo Duplantis would provide the other?!
His 19-5 clearance gave him the CR, the Frosh Class Record, the Age 19 Record, the National Record of Sweden, and the SEC Meet Record!
The Age, Class, and National records broke his own!
He moves from 2nd A-T Collegiate to 1st!
And it makes him 17th A-T World, tied with 3 others!

The PV had quite a lot else going on this weekend!

In Europe was the All Star Perche meet!
There, Sam Kendricks and Piotr Lisek had a good battle, with both clearing 19-5.50!
Kurtis Marschall went over a PR bar of 19-3.25!

On the Women's side, Anzhelika Sidorova and Angelica Bengtsson cleared 15-9.25!
For Bengtsson, she gets back her recently broken National Record of Sweden!
It makes her 13th A-T World, tied with 2 others!

Then came two others who improved their own National Record!
Ninon Guillon-Ramona got the NR of France, while Alysha Newman improved her NR of Canada, both with clearances at 15-6.25.
They're each 23rd A-T World, tied with each other!
Earlier, Sidorova had gotten over 15-7.50!

The SEC saw the former Weeks twins clear 15 feet!
Lexi Jacobus's 15-4.25 defeated her sister's (Tori Hoggard) 15-1.
For Jacobus, it's an INdoor PR!
It's also the SEC Meet Record!
It moves her from 3rd A-T Collegiate, tied with 1 other, to 2nd!
And she is now 8th A-T US!!

Grant Holloway and Divine Oduduru had great marks (and meets).
Oduduru took the Big 12 titles in the 60 and 200 with times of 6.52 and 20.08.
The short sprint made him 16th A-T Collegiate, tied with 8 others!

But in the 200, his startling 20.08 broke his own National Record of Nigeria, and gave him the Age 22 Record, the Big 12 Meet Record, and the Junior Class Record!
He moves from 4th A-T Collegiate to 2nd!
And from 5th A-T World to 3rd!

For Holloway, he strolled through the 60H in 7.44, breaking his own SEC Meet Record!

But maybe the real story was found in 2nd place, where Daniel Roberts suddenly ran 7.48!
This moves him from 7th A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others, to 4th!
And he becomes 20th A-T US, tied with 2 others!

The Men's 400 saw two different guys take over the World Lead!
First came Will London's 45.19 at the Big 12.
He gets the Meet Record, and a trio of places on my DDD's!
He's 10th A-T Collegiate, 11th A-T US, and 18th A-T World!

But at the American Conference, Kahmari Montgomery produced a 45.04!
He moves from 12th A-T Collegiate to 9th!
From 13th A-T US, tied with 1 other, to 8th!
And from 20th A-T World, tied with 2 others, to 12th!!

Other sprint marks---
Marie Josee Ta Lou sped the 60 in a World Leading time of 7.02!!
This makes her 17th A-T World, tied with 7 others!!

Bingtian Su ran the 60 in 6.49.

In the Big 12 heats of the 200, Andrew Hudson ran the one lap race in 20.33.
It became the temporary Big 12 Meet Record (See above!), and it gets him on 3 lists!
He's 13th A-T Collegiate, 14th A-T US, and 20th A-T World!

And Marcellus Moore added to the growing list of speedy HS boys in the 60!
His 6.65 makes him 16th A-T HS, tied with 4  others!

The Pentathlon saw some good marks!
Solene Ndama got the World Leader with her 4672 at the French Championships!

Michelle Atherley got the top Collegiate score with her 4498 at the ACC.
She's 8th A-T Collegiate, tied with 1 other!
And she moves from 24th A-T US to 10th, tied with 1 other!

A "last chance" meet was held at Boston University Sunday evening, featuring some fast 5000's!
Just like their December 1st meet (See earlier post!), the Women's race produced several quality times!

Marielle Hall took the Win in 15:07.17, but it wasn't a PR!
In 2nd, Karissa Schweizer ran 15:11.76.
She moves from 16th A-T US to 8th!
Courtney Frerichs ran 15:12.55, moving her from 21st A-T US to 9th!
Vanessa Fraser ended 4th in 15:14.75!
This makes her 10th A-T US!
Kim Conley was a far back 5th, but her 15:32.79 gives her 24th place on my US list!!

Removed FROM my US list was an oldie--Margaret Groos's 15:34.5 from 1981!!

Ed Cheserek won the Men's race in a PR of 13:08.05.
This makes him 20th A-T World!!
(He's still trying to become a US citizen!!)
The pair of Bor's were next, with Emmanuel running 13:10.23, and Hillary ending in 13:14.96!
Emmanuel is now 6th A-T US, and 24th A-T World!
Hillary is 10th A-T US!

Jenna Westaway's 1:59.87 in winning the 800 is the Canada National Record, and the first to go sub-2 INdoors!

While the BU meet featured the distances, the Western Kentucky Men's 4X400 squad ran 3:04.25, becoming 9th A-T School, tied with 1 other!!

Speaking of Relays, the SEC had a close battle in the Women's 4X400!!
Four teams finished just 0.54 apart, although none of the schools ran record times!
They were Texas A&M (3:29.15), South Carolina (3:29.56), Florida (3:29.57), and Arkansas (3:29.69)!!
However, in 5th came Georgia's 3:31.97, making them 19th A-T School!!

Stamatia Scarvelis had a big breakthrough in the WT, adding close to 6 feet to her PR!
Her 78-11.25 is the National Record of Greece, and the SEC Meet Record!!
She becomes 7th A-T Collegiate, and 13th A-T World!!

Also hitting a big WT was Sade Olatoye, her 78-11.75 at the Big 10 making her 6th A-T Collegiate, and moving her from 14th A-T World to 12th!

Old news from the Dusseldorf World Tour meet--
Jakub Ingebrigtsen's winning time in the 1500 of 3:36.02 breaks his own National Record of Norway!
But it also breaks the Age 18 Record--held by one Samuel Tefera--whom he beat here!!

Tefera's 2nd place time was 3:36.34!

To close this report, I have some additional marks to report, courtesy of today's eTN from T&FN!!
(I can't scour EVERY result page by myself!!  LOL)

I erred in my USATF report on the Women's 3K Walk!
Maria Michta-Coffey ended in 4th place, not 14th!!

Allie Wilson and Kameron Jones are both Collegiate athletes!
Jones's 1:15.32 in the Men's 600 thus makes him 5th A-T Collegiate!!
Wilson's 2:41.76 in the Women's 1000 makes her 6th A-T Collegiate!

Matthew Payamps ran the 1000 in 2:23.76 at USATF!!
He moves from 13th A-T HS to 2nd!!
Only Robby Andrews's HSR of 2:22.28 is ahead of him!!

Niyagua (?) Bayak HJ'ed 6-0 in her State meet, making her 12th A-T HS, tied with 9 others!!
And Victoria Vanriele ran the 600 in 1:30.36, making her 12th A-T HS!

And that is a wrap, dear readers!!

The next biggie is the European Championships!
I will have my Preview up before the meet begins!

See you soon!
