Complete Event Schedule--INdoor T&F, Roads, XC

The move towards the 2015-2016 INdoor Track and Field season is now in full transition!
This could (might, will) be one of the best-ever INdoor seasons.

With the Olympic Games set to begin on August 5th (the T&F events!) in Rio, it will be just 138 days to go after the World INdoor Championships end in Portland on March 20th after its 3 day run!
That's a long enough time for athletes to not worry about "peaking too early", or about having to peak twice.
Which could (might, will) set up the WIC for more widespread participation by worldwide elites, and for better results!
Secondarily, for the United States, having the meet IN the US could (might, will) mean a larger group of American elites to try for the team, and to be in top shape!

But how will they get there?
What paths will they take?
Which meets, races, events will they enter?

And what about those who--due to scheduling constraints and school team responsibilities---probably will NOT be in Portland (for either the WIC "Trials"--namely the USATF Championships---or the WIC itself?
I speak of American Collegiate and High School athletes.

Well, to serve as a fairly comprehensive GUIDE to the next few months, I offer the following Schedule of Events--on the Roads, in XC, but most importantly, on the INdoor Tracks and Fields of the United States and the World!
This Schedule is based on the latest information as to Dates, and is presented month-by-month, chronologically.
I will try to inform you of any changes (or additions!) in future posts!

18th-20th---WORLD INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

While I said earlier (and even said as much in the title!) that this is a "complete" schedule for the next 4 months-plus, it's really no such thing!!
(My own little burst of hyperbole!!  LOL)
BUT---that only means there are TONS of OTHER meets (& Road & XC races) which I did NOT include!
And assuredly, SOME of them will produce some (if not a significant number of!) Top 24 Marks, and maybe a Record or 2 or 3!!
(Which ALSO assumes that a few of the above listed may NOT!!)

As the days and weeks move forward, I'll tell you some of the athletes who announce where they'll compete, and probably some of the WR attempts, which I also expect to hear about in the next few weeks!

I have just a little bit of old Road news to report----some of which I'm probably repeating from an earlier post!!

On September 6th (!!), Shalane Flanagan broke the American Record for the Road 10K, running 31:03 in a Netherlands race.
But winning the race was Genet Ayalew, who ran 30:58.

The Men ran a 10 Mile, with Bernard Koech running a solid 45:21.

In a Valencia, Spain Half-Marathon (October 18th), Abraham Cheroben ran 59:10 for the win, with Matthew Kisorio 2nd in 59:52.
The Women's race was won by Nefaret Gudeta's 1:07:31.
Second, 20 seconds back, came Worknesh Deyefa.

See you in a few days with more INdoor Season Previews!!

ADD:  IMPORTANT NOTE!!
The New Balance INdoor Invitational---the HUGELY significant Boston meet!!--is on February 27th---NOT February 7th, as initially listed!
The date has been changed!
See February 27th listing above!
