Non-Relay Stuff Hot Also

You have all the Relay action (IF you read my first post!).
Here's all the single athlete stuff!

The Collegiate Women sprinters have someone new to fear!
Her name is Aleia Hobbs, and she's now the 2nd fastest Collegiate 100 Woman of All-Time!!

Assisted by a max 2.0 breeze, Hobbs ran 10.85 at the inaugural SEC Relays!
In my Collegiate Records Predictions post, I said that Dawn Sowell's 1989 CR of 10.78 was inviolable, but that her 22.04 CR was doable!
Now I'm seeing BOTH as breakable!
Now just 0.07 seconds from tying Sowell, Hobbs gets the Junior Class Record.
She moves all the way from 24th A-T Collegiate, tied with 2 others, into 2nd!
She's also now 14th A-T US, tied with 2 others!
She misses the World list by 0.03 seconds!

Destiny Carter, a Kentucky Senior, finished 0.20 back in 11.05, but still makes my list--22nd A-T Collegiate, tied with 1 other!
Canada's Crystal Emmanuel was 3rd in 11.06!

Cut  OFF my Collegiate list was the venerable Merlene Ottey, whose 11.07 dated from 1981!
Removed FROM my US list were 3 notables--
Jenna Prandini, her 10.92 dating from 2015
Jasmine Todd, her 10.92 also from 2015
and Alice Brown, her 10.92 dating from 1989!!

Christian Coleman sped a 9.93, but had an aiding wind of 3.2!
Lawrence Crawford was 2nd in 9.97!

At the Tom Jones meet, Tori Bowie ran the 200 in 22.09--AGAINST a wind of 0.3!!
Shakima Wimbley was 2nd in 22.47, but in a separate section, so had an aiding wind of 0.7!
Quanera Hayes was in Bowie's heat, running 22.55.
Kyra Jefferson was in Wimbley's heat, and ran 22.57!

Noah Lyles got his 2nd fastest 200--20.16, wind of 1.6.
Also at Tom Jones, Veronica Campbell Brown's 11.06 took the win over Kelly Ann-Baptiste's 11.15, wind of 0.7.

The High Hurdles saw some good action!

He broke his own Meet Record!!
Andrew Pozzi, the INdoor 60H leader, was 2nd in 13.24, with Aleec Harris timed in 13.37, and Aries Merritt next in 13.44!
The wind was 1.0.

Kendra Harrison got a World Leader with her Drake win of 12.56 (1.0).
It was raining, but Jasmin Stowers was 2nd in 12.70, followed by Dawn Harper-Nelson's 12.79, and Queen Harrison's 12.86!

At the USC-UCLA dual meet, Anna Cockrell finally realized some of her potential, winning the 100H in 12.91.
She'd yet to break 13.20 all season!!
The breeze was 1.1.
Dior Hall's 13.03 was 2nd!

At the SEC meet, Jasmin Camacho-Quinn won in 12.84, wind of 1.8.
The Penn Relays 100H saw Oregon's Alaysha Johnson winning in 12.88, wind of -0.8!!
But it's not a PR for her!

The Long Hurdles saw the return to glory of 2 former Collegiate icons!
At Drake, Georgeanne Moline's 54.66 World Leader beat Kori Carter's 54.72!
They're BACKKK!!!
(BTW, Ashley Spencer fell on the wet track and DNF'ed!)

Cory Poole exploded to a 50.71 over 400H at Penn, missing my HS DDD by 0.10 seconds!!

While the Distances will have to wait a few days for the Payton Jordan meet, Emmanuel Korir continued his amazing Freshman season at UTEP!!

And he negative split the race!!
After a 52.48 opener, he sprinted the 2nd 400 in 51.25!!
He is now 2nd A-T Collegiate!!
While he doesn't quite make my Combined Events 400-800 list, he's close!!
Adding his 44.67 400 to the 1:43.73, his C-E total is 2:28.40!!

Also at Brutus Hamilton, HS'er Cooper Teare's attempt at a sub-4:00 Mile fell short--again!
But his non-PR time of 4:01.29 was good, nonetheless!
As was Sam Worley's 800 in 1:49.68--the first sub-1:50 of the season for HS'ers!

The rain at Drake didn't stop Clay Murphy from beating John Gregorek in the 1500--3:41.75 to 3:41.84.
Penn had a fast Women's Mile!
Steepler Eleanor Purrier won it in 4:32.05, beating the 4:32.50 of Hanna Green, Marielle Hall's 4:32.77, and Sasha Gollish's 4:32.87!

She remains 2nd A-T Collegiate and 8th A-T US!!
Stamatia Scarvelis threw the Hammer 214-1 at the SEC meet.
Kellion Knibb improved her DT to 203-7.
