Boston's a tough act to follow, but.......

The New Balance Boston Indoor was so good, it filled up a whole post!
(Oh, I could've stuffed all this other material in there, but I have great sympathy for your tired eyes, so chose to do a 2nd post, to make it a bit easier to read.)

Seems the American Women's 1 Mile list is getting a solid reworking at the top of it!
First, there was Mary Cain's 4:24.11, run in Boston (Natch!), but at BU, not at the Reggie Lewis Center!
Then there was Kim Conley's somewhat surprising 4:24.54, run at The Armory.
And now there's Amanda Winslow.
She ran 4:26.28 at BU to win by 5 seconds (from Nicole Schappert), her time placing her 6th A-T US Indoors, and # 23 on the World Indoor list!
Her time would have been # 1 in the World in 2013, but this year, it's # 3....so far!
(The pacer was Kate Grace!)

Two other good marks happened at that BU meet.

Arkansas's Women's DMR team ran the 5th best A-T Indoor Collegiate mark with their 10:57.15.
I'm just now compiling my relay lists, indoors and out., so there MIGHT be a correction needed on this!
I'm doing the list by school, not performances!
In other words, just ONE time for each school!
(Or Nation, on the World lists!)
More details on my new Relay lists in another post.....but not sure when!)

Then, Emily Sisson and Laura Nagel ran the 2 fastest 3000's of the year for collegians.
Sisson won with 9:00.76, and is now 13th A-T Indoors on the Collegiate list!
(Just ahead of.....Abbey D'Agostino!!!)
Nagel ran 9:01.35, for 17th A-T Collegiate!

The HJ continues to be a VERY sexy event!!
(No, nobody HJ'ed naked!!  LOL)
Ivan Ukhov again jumped very high, almost matching his PR of 7-10.75.
He reached 7-10.50.
So did....in the same meet (!!)...Aleksey Dmitrik.
Dmitrik's mark ties him (with Carlos Thranhardt's mark from 1987!!) for the Age 29 record!
It also moves him from a tie at 22nd (with 7 others) on the World Indoor list to a tie (with 2 others!) at 5th A-T World!

Lalond Gordon ran the 400 in 45.17, putting him 12th A-T in the World.

Duke's Megan Clark PV'ed 14-3.50 to move into a 4-way tie at 18th on the Indoor Collegiate list!

WT'er Michael Lihrman zipped from 20th to 16th on the Indoor Collegiate list with his 75-4.

I don't keep records for the 500 (or 300), but I did notice one mark that caught my eye.
Decathlete Curtis Beach, maybe the fastest 800-1500 runner among Decathletes, won a college 500 with a fast 1:10.50 at the Armory!

Finally, in the HS category, a few marks to report.
As noted above, I don't keep 300 records, and just began compiling marks for the 600.
But a couple of marks stand out.
Olivia Baker ran 1:30.58 for 11th A'T HS Indoors.
And Zyaire Clemens ran 300 in 33.50 for # 7 A-T HS.

The Blacksburg (VA) boys 4X800 squad ran 7:44.52, the 11th best school indoors, according to Jack Shepard's HS Track Annual!

John Warren PR'ed by 5.75 inches in the TJ, to 51-3, to move from 18th to 16th on the HS list.

And Adam Kelly crushed his old PR by 32.5 inches (!!) in the WT, his 78-6.50 moving him from 17th to 12th on the A-T HS list!!

Finally, here's one about....an 8th grader!
Her name--Remember it!!--is Gabrielle Wilkinson, and she's from Pennsylvania.
She won the HS 1000 at the Armory in 2:51.71.
Why is her mark so...remarkable?
And why should you remember her name?

Because next year she goes into the 9th grade.
The HS 9th grade record is 2:50.84, set in 2011.
Need I say more?

That Class Record is held by......Mary Cain!!

She said, in an interview, that this was her 1st 1000, and that her 800 PR is 2:10!

Next week is Millrose!
Another records blitz??
