It's been over 7 months since my last real post, at the beginning of last October. (Pay no mind to that empty thing posted in December.)
So what's up?
This blog WILL continue--as long as I live!
Reason for the 7 month vacuum?
My cataracts!
I was supposed to have the surgery in February & early March.
Then Covid hit, and the lockdown started.
No elective surgeries--all cancelled!
Thus I was unable to do my research, and unable to keep my Record Book updated.
Since my Book is the main source of date for this blog, no blog!!
Maybe soon, as things are starting up again.
Meanwhile, a really quickie overview!
The WC was great.
Three 75 footers in the SP.
Fantastic depth in the Women's 1500 and 5000.
Great PV's.
Top notch Women's 400H duel.
(Lousy Men's 400H!)
Other good stuff.
A new Women's Marathon WR of 2:14:04--and a speed tme by Ken Bekele!
Other great fall Road tmes.ii
Great and interesting NCAA and HS Cross Country champ races.
To INdoors, another fast Women's 5000 in Boston in December.
A SHOCKING time and win by Karissa Schweizer in that speedy 3000!
She outkicked one of the best kickers!!
Then the cancellations--of the NCAA and NBIN--and the entire OUTdoor spring season.
Just a few days ago, Brynn Brown shocking with a 9:39 time trial in the 3200!!
OK, so it's a 3200, with collegiate men pacing her, hand-timed, ettc--BUT still, 9:39 by a HS Junior!!i
You can see the entire run on Let's Run--free!! Plus a 9 minute DyeStat video interview with her hours after the run!!
Then the "off track" news.
The not-so-surprising Mary Cain revelations, which only made my "I Told You So!" editorial last October hold even more weight!!
Then Peter Snell dying--one of the true All Time greats!!
And the Covid shit!!
More to come--hopefully soon.
Keep healthy and safe, my friends!
